Site specific installation

Otis College of Art and Design

This site specific installation explores ideas of individual confinement from societal, institutional and political burdens. Using the context of my artist residant studio at Otis and the misspelling of my name, I seek to question the role of the artist as an individual and participator art institutions. The surrounding polished architecture serves as a mimicking façade to the artist quarters reminiscent of containment cells. Using the existing studio walls, rations of old white paint and limited materials sourced from the site, I propose to demonstrate the idea of containment on both physical and mental levels. Seeking permission from the administration will be part of the process and used to highlight boundaries that continue to reveal themselves in the fight for personal expression.
