Bed Shield is a multifaceted work comprising installation, photography and performance. Inspired by the phrase “double edged sword” and the artist Monica Bonvicini idea of the “bed as crime scene,” I constructed a bed frame made of steel “daggers.” The daggers are ambiguous—they are simultaneously a defense system and a form of oppression and containment for the user. Like with many of my works, with this piece I wanted to explore the fine line between self-defense and self-harm though different iteration of the  bed structure.
